Topic 2: Verbs

Verbs are words that express actions, occurrences, or states of being. They are essential in forming sentences and can be classified into different types:

1. Action Verbs: Describe physical or mental actions (e.g., run, think).

2. Linking Verbs: Connect the subject of a sentence to a subject complement, often describing a state of being (e.g., is, seem).

3. Helping (Auxiliary) Verbs: Help the main verb express tense, mood, or voice (e.g., have, will, can).
4. Transitive Verbs: Require a direct object to complete their meaning (e.g., eat, write).

5. Intransitive Verbs: Do not require a direct object (e.g., sleep, arrive).

6. Regular Verbs: Form their past tense by adding "-ed" (e.g., walked, played).

7. Irregular Verbs: Do not follow a regular pattern when forming their past tense (e.g., "go" becomes "went," "see" becomes "saw").
